Thought for Today
Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.
Isa 43:19

My Best Friend

Once Andrew came across a shop where puppies were sold, Andrew got very much interested when he saw some puppies there. His attention was drawn towards a puppy tied in a corner of the shop.
“Why is it tied here?” he asked

“It is not for sale, one of its legs is crippled. It is to be thrown somewhere in a bush on return after the shop is shutdown,” the shop keeper said.
“I want this,” he said
“Hai, nay, here good puppies only are sold,” the shopkeeper said.
Finally being insisted, he agreed to give him the crippled dog. Given the money he had with him to the shopkeeper, he said, “this is an advance. Before evening I will give the balance and would take the puppy.”
Evening he came with the balance money. As he took the puppy and begin to walk, the shopkeeper asked, “after paying the lumpsum price, why are you taking this crippled one?” He turned back, after having a look at the crippled leg of that puppy for a moment; he lifted up his pant at his right leg. It was an artificial leg fitted in his right leg, beneath the knee of that Youngman… The shopkeeper’s lips were getting shuddered; the eyes got filled; two drops of tears were oozed down to the currency notes in the hands… He was about to tell something to the youngman. But by the time he had already walked ahead.

This youngman who showed pity to this puppy is a good friend. But would he have given his life, if it was needed instead of money?

Jesus said “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man laydown his life for his friends.” (John 15:13)
He is the right friend who gives his life for his friend in order to save his life, without any selfish motive. Many times, don’t we cherish if we would have such a friend?

“I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep” (John 10:11).These are the words of Jesus. Jesus gave his life as a ransom to redeem the entire mankind who went astray from God and got into the clutches of Satan resulting in sin. Because the Bible says: “there is none righteous, no, not one; for there is no difference: for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).

So Jesus took death on himself on behalf of mankind in order to save them from eternal damnation which is the wages of sin. Yes, Jesus decided to loose his life for the sake of yourself.
“But he was wounded for our transgressions”
(Isaiah 53:5).

Like this Jesus, the best friend took by himself over the punishment which was due to us. He died in our place, removed punishment and curse and he (Jesus)
resurrected on the third day.

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1John 1:9).

If you pray to Jesus to forgive your faults and sins, Jesus the best friend will forgive you. From today onwards pray to Jesus deciding to become a good individual. Jesus the best friend will help you out in
all your problems.

“Jesus the best friend, I believe, you died in calvary for the atonement of my sin. Please forgive my sins. Please, you come into my life from now on.”
