Thought for Today
Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.
Isa 43:19

"Have you ever seen anybody resemble you ?"

The same walk as yours, same talk, beauty, dressing style etc. in all these have you seen anybody same as you so far?
Somebody, at the very sight will look like as if he is the same other person. There will be some analogy even in character. But in attitude there will definitely be difference.
The Iranian twins Lale and Lade looked a like. After living 29 years with one head and two bodies, the reason behind their decision to get severed was their contradictory attitude. The vein which circulated the blood to both the brain was the same – still they were not so harmonious each other. If die, let us die, but not together anymore; they decided and finally succumbed to death.
Still you may be thinking, ‘is there somebody like me.’
Out of the two resembling persons, one said: “brother, we are alike, know; so can you die in my place?” Then would the other person be ready to die? The first man continued, “please understand my situation. Look here, don’t you see this body? Because of chain smoking my mouth and lungs are all ruined. Drugs and liquor have destroyed the liver and heart. The family members are all scattered. Theft and waywardness have made me a different person.I stranded and looked down upon by the society because of lie, deceit and tale-bearing etc… No peace, no comfort, starvation, loan, poverty, disease… oh, fed up. Still I am eager to live. Brother, takingover all these things can you please die in my place…?” “Oh, I was thinking to whom I will tell all my difficulties… On hearing his reply, the other person replied, “Hai, am I not also eager to live?” So, this is the case with almost everybody! “As it is written, there is none righteous, no, not one. There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they have altogether become unprofitable, there is none that doeth good, no, not one.”(1)
“for I acknowledge my transgressions, and my sin is ever before me”(2)
These are the words of Paul, the learned and David the king.
This is the condition of man. One can not find the atonement by himself for the mistakes he has done. The court may have given the punishment for the crime. Still he will be haunted by the prick of conscience. The wages of sin is death (3) in the court of God. Yes, eternal death… The judgment that leaves no further chance. To be exonerated (acquitted), nobody will be ready to become a proxy – to shoulder this punishment even after clasping
one’s feet. Even if somebody is willing to do so, since that man also is having short coming like these, it can not be accomplished.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (4)
Here the love of God for man is manifested. Jesus the sinless got ready to die to save the man who laments having no one to help him.
“And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross”(5)
“… and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth; he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.”(6)
As the soldiers pulled out the hairs from his face and beaten terribly by the whips, he endured the pain for our sake. In the midst of immense pain he forgave the soldiers. Yes, Jesus was assassinated in calvary instead of you. Jesus loves you so much. There are times when parents, relatives and friends forsake you. But Jesus who died and resurrected will never leave you. He will be with you forever. Once you have decided not to commit any more sins; believe that Jesus on the cross has atoned for the iniquities already done, then as Jesus to forgive your sins and you become a new creation. Then, Jesus will come into your life through the rightful decision you have made. You could experience the joy and peace which you cannot acquire through money or influence.
If you find somebody, who resemble you, what would be your first question to him?
