Thought for Today
Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.
Isa 43:19

Mother, father, wife, children, brothers, sisters, relatives, home, vehicle, money, loan, poverty, disease…!!!
Within seconds many things comes to your mind. Out of these which is the first one?
Every moment different thoughts comes one after the other. Man has the greatest memory power among all living beings. He can keep many things in his memory, infact there are so many things…like memories since childhood!!!
But the ability to recapture the events is much
less as compared to a computer. On giving a single command in the computer, the whole data which is stored in it will appear before us within seconds. In case of humans, it may take hours or perhaps days.
Still you may be thinking about what you can remember the most at the very first instance.
When you sit silently in a place and try to recollect, many childhood memories will begin to appear clearly one by one as in a three dimensional picture. The things done for getting more affection, the courage that was demonstrated, the lies told, the small deeds of thefts, all kinds of naughty things that were done, all such things that is still done and talked about till the previous day… Oh, surprising everything came into the mind within no time.
Some memories were bitter while others joyous. Yet other events would haunt the mind as thorns of mistakes that were done long ago. Some may say; ‘I will not forget that thing you did to me, till my death.’ Don’t memories have death? How long, do memories remain without dieing?

Think about the case if all the memories that are stored in our memory are displayed before the public as in a computer screen! “Oh! Nonsense! Nobody should know about it. If somebody knows it, I will loose my dignity” Do you feel like this?

“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive what is due him for the things done, while in the body, whether good or bad.”1
Does not the small and big sins committed, often appear in your mind? It is a
fact that there is punishment for all these sins. Would you prefer to go to hell, receiving this punishment!

Or are you willing to get saved from this punishment? “Neither is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved”2 “...and the blood of Jesus Christ, his son, cleanseth us from all sin”3
They put his hands and legs on top of the wooden cross and the pointed nails were nailed through. He fluttered in terrible pain as he could not even wipe away the blood drops which were flowing down into his eyes… For the sanctification of our sin Jesus died in calvary.

“For he hath made him, who knew no sin, to be sin for us, that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”4

“Though your sin be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow, though they be red like crimson they shall be as wool.”5

Pray to Jesus by repenting for all the sins committed until today. He will forgive all your transgressions. He will give you a new life as you receive Jesus into your heart. Still you may be trying to find out what is that which comes to your memory very first! Try once again…
